The Safari party are now at the Amboseli reserve and enjoying the animals on the game drives. The game drives are getting them very close to the animals so some fantastic photos.

Coming to an end of the trip and thoughts are now turning to the long road home, and planning of the various legs. Everyone will be amazed at the photos.

All in good spirits and doing fine.

Everyone fine, although heat and lack of sleep having an effect on some. All drinking loads of water. It’s going well and everybody enthusiastic and eager to finish project.

John Kitson has now arrived (he left Scotland on Tuesday).

All have enjoyed the trips into Mombasa over the last two days.

This is last day on project so a big push by all 40 to complete all the projects.

Tomorrow (Saturday) is the official handover to the School Board.

Plans for Party Night on Saturday to celebrate 4 birthdays that have occurred during expedition and the completion of the project.

Iain

—————————————————————————–

It’s becoming obvious that we are not going to be able to get many pictures from Mombasa whilst the party is there due to the internet connections, but we will get these loaded up when they return, please bear with us.

We did manage to get three pictures from Duncan (now in the previous post) which were taken at the workshop in Mombasa, where the timber for the desks/benches were cut and drilled ready for assembly.

Received at 0521 this morning (29th Jun) :-
Weather is hot and humid, some light rain and LOTS of sun. Folks a little more tired than on first day but still OK.

The two classroms have had 2 coats of magnolia and the mural painting is well underway.

Goal posts have been painted, ready for being put up and lines marked out.

Today (29th) the party split in two, 16 of them have a day off in Mombassa while the rest go back to Makobe to continue the work, and the desk building starts.

The situation reverses tomorrow, when today’s workers have their day in town.

Not much sleep on plane from London, so lots of tired people (including Iain.
Met by Swahili dancers to welcome them.
Just going to lunch ( message received at 1544 but no idea when it was sent – it looks like a three/four hour delay) and then they have the opportunity for a swim in the Indian Ocean. Not quite as bad as it sounds, there is a lagoon with a coral reef round it, the tide is out and they have a lifeguard watchng over.
Temperature 26 Degree and cloudy. Every one in fine fettle.
